KBS Drama Special is a weekly program on KBS2 showing short dramas (usually single episodes), with each episode having a different story, cast, director, and writer. This Chuseok holiday KBS decided to air an emotional and touching story drama special called “Birthday Letter” which will have a total of 2 episodes.
Korean drama “Birthday Letter” confirms to star Jeon So Min, Jeong Yeong Suk, Jeon Moo Song, Kim Kyung Nam, Kim Hee Jung, Kim Min Kyu, Kim Yi Kyung and more in the cast.

The story of the drama “Birthday Letter” goes like this. Kim Mu Gil is an old man who during his old days was forced to work in Hiroshima during Japan’s occupation of Korea. Surprisingly one day he receives a letter from his first love Yeo Il Ae. Kim Jae Yoon (Jeon So Min) who is Kim Mu Gil’s granddaughter upon seeing the letter decides to find his grandfather’s first love and she then discovers about their emotional past along the way. The drama will focus on the painful lives of the youth at the times of Japanese occupation of Korea, Korea’s liberation, and the Korean War.
This year Chuseok is on 13 September in Korea. So “Birthday Letter” is expected to release around the date. (Chuseok, literally “Autumn eve”, once known as hangawi, is a major harvest festival and a three-day holiday in both North- and South Korea celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar on the full moon.
