“Arthdal Chronicles” also called “Chronicles of Asadal” is the first part of the tvN drama series called “The Children Of Prophecy” , released on June 1, 2019 and will be available to watch online on Netflix and Viki.

Part 2 “Arthdal Chronicles : The Sky Turning Inside Out, Rising Land” will release on June 22, 2019.

Part 3 “Arthdal Chronicles : Arth, The Prelude to All Legends” will release on 7 September, 2019.

Synopsis

“Arthdal Chronicles” story revolves around the power struggles, love and growth of the ancient city of Arthdal, the capital of Gojoseon.

  • Eun Seom (Song Joong-ki), is a cursed child born in Blue Stone Village under an ominous sign. Due to this, people of Arthdal considers him a threat. His mother takes him away in order to save him. He later comes back to Arthdal.
  • Tan Ya (Kim Ji-won), is a woman born under a cursed sign and who overcomes adversity to become the first female politician of Arthdal. She is Eun Seom’s first love.
  •  Ta Gon (Jang Dong-gun), is a war hero of Arthdal. He is the most powerful person in Arthdal and everybody fears him. He wishes to become the first king of Arthdal. Ta Gon also loves Tan Ya.
  •  Tae Ha (Kim Ok-vin) who is the last survival of Noeantal, a race different from humans. She is also the first Empress of Arthdal.

Notes and Facts about Arthdal Chronicles

  1. The first script reading for the drama was held in August, 2018.
  2. The filming set, construction took place for eight months.
  3. The cast and crew of Arthdal Chronicles attended a workshop before filming in Yangju, Gyeonggi-do.
  4. The drama was filmed overseas in Brunei.
  5. The main leads Kim Ji Won and Song Joong Ki earlier worked together in the hit Korean drama ” Descendants of the Sun“.
  6. Arthdal Chronicles is divided into 3 parts or seasons. First two parts will air continuously in June and July. The third part will air in September.
  7. A special appearance will be done by Choo Ja-hyun (Asahon), who will the mother of Eun Seom.
  8. Song Joong Ki starred in the drama “Descendants of the Sun” (2016) before.
  9. Jang Dong Gun starred in the Korean drama “Suits” (2018) before.
